Since our little Virtual western town is growing so fast and furious, I figgered that it was time again for a little introduction and explaination for the newcomers in town. Now, before I go and get good and started, let me `splain a little about our little Virtual Town of Tok'ra Flats. This is like that episode of your favorite Television Show that takes it's main characters and puts them in a different time and era. Macgyver, Kung Fu and Walker Texas Ranger have all done it, we just did it to Stargate: SG1. It's all in the wonderful world of cyberspace and we can play there as much as we want and with everything and anybody you can imagine.

And just as every small town has to have rules to live by, we do too. Ours are just a little bit, uh eccentric.

TOWN RULES (kinda sorta)

There is NO bashing, flaming, fighting, fisticuffs, hurtin'of feelings, gunplay or spitting on the sidewalk allowed. We love all our characters, be they Colonels, Archeologists, Astrophysicists and friendly aliens. For historical, hysterical information check out the ARCHIVES (see our links section for the website addy) for our Town Ballad, background stories and ROUND ROBIN challenge story (A Tok'ra Flats Alternate Universe Story of course.)

It's 1866 in Tok'ra Flats, Western Territory. Most of the men folk went back to the east to take part in the War Between the States. Our little town had seen some trouble with Comancheros from Mexico, wild ranch hands from the surrounding area, and we needed some law. Judge Hammond, an ex Texas Ranger and Union General, had been in Tok'ra Flats before the Unpleasantness back east. After the war, he brought a group of handpicked men with him to give us some law out here west of the Pecos and they've gotten things squared away purty quick. But there are still a few mysteries left to solve out thar in that high lonesome country.

The Texican General/Judge is retired but not retiring, The Sheriff is a Honey, the deputies are a Darlin' boy, a Big strong black man and the other deputy is a purty Gal (go figure). We got Padre Joe and the Anasazi Indians at the mission, we got Civil War veterans as the law, we got inventors, and engineers and a good new woman doctor. We got an electromagnetic genius and the blacksmith is a wonder. There are strangers in the mountains with glowing eyes, little gray fellers come and go, and rumors of Dragons in the wind. We got all kinda new folk allus comin' inta town to settle down and we got an unlocked 'cloak room' with lots of magic contraptions in it. Our local citizens are Celtic Angel who owns the General Store, Goddess Athene runs Snugburys Ice Cream Parlor, Miss Kelly has a Quicky Mart, and the Celtic Cowgirl Aislynn is the Newspaper Lady, which the first edition is due out at any time. Ms. Devra is the Veterinarian, Ms Majel is building a sawmill. Ms. Sunbeam raises fine cow dogs, Ms. Babs is the Schoolmarm a teaching all the young uns, Ms Tamy is up in tha hills a'studying Bears. Ms. Ruth has a farm outside of town and we all have real or virtual horses, just a waiting for a round up or a posse to be called. And me, I'm the Mayor fer now, and I also owns the Emerald City Saloon, the local saloon-restaurant-hotel-dance hall- lending library.

Meanwhile the more `normal' SG1 team stories can be found with the infamous Fic of the Week. We have continuing stories that run here, such as the `Drunken Colonel Saga' and the `Boys and their Cars' series. There are stand alone long novelettes and short little stories and a poem or filk show up every now and agin. We have Story Challenges thrown out to inspire you and Discussion Questions to make you scratch your head. A Tok'ra story comes around fairly regular and everyone is welcome to post any story, poem or filk they write about SG1. If you have a website, please post your address in the links section so we can all enjoy your stories and stuff. This is an adult list, hence the need for an age statement, so NC-17 is allowed but we try not to get too mean to anyone cause we love em all. And, occasionally, we just gab on about all kinds a'Stuff. So if that bothers anyone you might want to put your mail setting at No Mail and just visit the sight for the intelligent discussions and great fics and not worry about filling up your mail boxes with chit chat or a string of silliness. So, you are hereby forewarned and know what to expect. And of course, you are quite welcome to jump in at any time and give us yer own opinion on the meaning of life stuff. We're just a friendly lot and that's all she wrote folks. Trouble makers are quickly run off by the Sheriff. (But, he ain't had to do it once yet so the town's record is real good.)

But one things fer sure, thar's allus sumptin a'goin on at Tok'ra Flats. You kin open up a business if yew want and take part in the daily life of the town. You can go exploring in the mountains fer bears or dragons or even unicorns. You can come to the ice cream parlor at two thirty and watch the deputies eat ice cream, or set on the saloon porch and watch the blacksmith at work. You might go to the Quicky Mart for cappuccino and donuts, or go to visit tha Vet where we all set and tell stories on her porch with a glass of Long Island Iced Tea made with a sparkly kinda water. And we have dances at the Emerald City on Saturday nites and picnics in the Town Square on Sunday afternoon. Hope we fit your bill as a fun town to live in...At least it's not dull. So come on in, take yer shoes off, set a spell and let the soothing sounds of the River De Nada calm yer jangled nerves as you join us, the Outcasts of Tok'ra Flats, just watching our world go by.
